My name is Christian Hollingsworth (aka Smart Boy) and I’m a graphic artist, web developer, and marketing consultant. I’m currently based out of Northern California.

My Story

It all started when I was 9 years old, year 2000. At the time I began to get interested in computers and the internet, and decided to join the largest kid-oriented social site at the time. Neopets. I quickly began learning basic HTML coding, and started building my own guild/club communities. It was amazing to me that people from around the world could seamlessly interact via website communities and email.

A few years sped by, and I grew out of Neopets. At this time I had my own email, and had purchased my first desktop PC. An old eMachines. 256MB RAM, tiny processor, 300lb CRT monitor. It was bliss.

Many ask where I received the alias of “Smart Boy.” It actually came by way of my grandparents, aunts, and uncles. When they’d hear of my work on the computer – they’d always respond with, “You’re such a Smart Boy!” Thus – the name was born.

I continued my knowledge of Photoshop, HTML & CSS – and began diving into PHP programming. Shortly after, SmartBoyDesigns.com was purchased – and I began building websites for family, friends, and a few clients. I also started Sleddoggin.com, due to my love of dog sledding – and it has now grown to be one of the largest communities in the mushing industry.

Today – I continue to grow and learn. I manage a slew of websites for many clients, and develop online communities. I work to expand my knowledge of web development and marketing daily, as the internet is a constantly evolving creature. At times, it truly feels I have too much to accomplish in just one lifetime.

I began SBD primarily as a place to compile my day to day thoughts regarding what I learned. As I expanded my development and marketing knowledge, I expanded SBD. Today, I offer targeted articles revolving around blog, SEO, and design tips.
