Among Google’s many innovations, the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button is much discussed and debated in cyber space.

The button recently went for a makeover with special features added to its kitty.

Below is a refresher course on everything you need to know about it.

What is the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button all about?

When you are looking up information on Google and type in a keyword or phrase, hitting the search button opens a Pandora’s Box, and numerous websites matching your requirements are displayed in the search results. However, if you type the word and press the “I’m feeling lucky” button instead, then it takes you directly to the best ranked page for the search phrase.

For instance, when you type NASA, a normal search will register a number of sites regarding NASA.

Whereas the “I’m feeling lucky” button will land you up straight on the official website of the organization.

If you are looking at saving time, the button’s utility is supreme – featuring the best and authentic result without you having to sift through the laundry list of sites. However, if you prefer to consult from multiple sources, then you will not be satisfied with one result, even if that’s supposed to be the best.

You will, in any case, look up other sites for reference.
