Dealing with Poor Body Image

Let’s get real and gritty this morning.

As I sit here getting ready for a photo shoot in an hour, I can’t help but think about body image, and how my perception has changed throughout life.

The honest truth is that up until recently, I’ve always had very poor body image. By being teased so much for being skinny I remember many times growing up not wanting to wear a short-sleeved shirt, or take my shirt off at the pool, because I was so self conscious about my thin looks.

It amazes me to know I thought in that way.

It just goes to show that all people, regardless of how ridiculous it sounds, will easily fall prey to feeling less than adequate. Never underestimate the pain of what others are going through.

Now, because of changes I’ve made in my life and accepting who I am, I love my body. I own my looks. I look in the mirror each morning and love the body I’ve been given.

Remember how unique and individual you are.
What makes you you, is you.
You are beautiful.
