Sometimes I get messages from my readers saying that they don’t know how to apply some advice because they lack certain skills.

For example, after I wrote an article about making money online someone sent me a message telling me that he knows nothing about wordpress, e-commerce, marketing or social media and that’s why he cant start.

My usual answer in such a case is, why don’t you learn it!

After all no one was born with online marketing knowledge or with deep knowledge about any other field.

People usually have a problem with learning because they don’t know how to do it. The ability to self learn something is one of the essential survival skills that each person who is serious about success must have and that’s why I decided to write this post.

This is how to teach yourself anything

Lets suppose that you wanted to learn creative thinking. In such a case you will just have to free few hours each day to read about that topic. Just go to Google then type creative thinking and start by reading the results you will get.

Most probably you wont understand everything in the beginning and you might actually come across whole pages that are hard to grasp.

As you keep doing so everyday you will start to learn more about sub terms that are related to that major topic you are searching for.

For example while reading about creative thinking you will come to know about the left and right hemispheres of the brain. At this point you should Google this new term to understand it well just like you did with the broad topic.

As the time passes you will discover that you are understanding more information out of the articles you read and you will start to come up with your own conclusions about it.

Phase two

Free information is great but sometimes you will need to buy some specialized books in order to know more about that topic you are interested in. Do a good research on the books out there, read the reviews then buy the best ones.

While doing so you must make sure that you are applying whatever you are learning, else you will miss the practical part and forgot what you learnt.

After weeks you will realize that you now know a lot about that topic provided that you dedicated few hours each day as I said earlier.

Keep repeating this process and you will become expert in whatever you want to learn.
