I decided to take part in the #PhotoADayMay challenge created by @fatmumslim.
For the next month I’ll be using my iPhone to take photos of each day’s “prompt,” of which you can see a text version below. Once I’ve taken the photo, I’ll use Instagram to promote the daily photo to my various social networks.
You’ll find the photo I took for “peace” to the right. It’s a photo of my little frog statue. Reading has always been my peaceful place.
I invite you to join me in this photo challenge during the month of May.
It’s a great way to ponder, think, and grow.
The photo prompts by day:
- peace
- skyline
- something you wore today
- fun!
- bird
- you
- someone that inspires you
- a smell you adore
- something you do everyday
- a favorite word
- kitchen
- something that makes you happy
- mum
- grass
- love
- what you’re reading
- snack
- something you made
- a favorite place
- something you can’t live without
- where you stand
- pink
- technology
- something new
- unusual
- 12′o clock
- something sweet
- the weather today
- a number
- your personality
- something beautiful
In what ways do you hope to grow from this exercise? How often do you take photos? Have you ever completed a photo journalism challenge? Do you believe pictures are worth a thousand words? Do you have a favorite photo?

My peaceful place is sitting by the ocean with my best friend when no one else is around us. We just sit there in silence listening to the waves. Everything else in life just seems to disappear.

Hmmm, I think I’ll give this a go. I’ve had good intentions to do an Instagram photo-a-day challenge, so maybe I should follow through this month.
I’ll have to catch up, though! Maybe I can find something peaceful at work!

Even if you miss a day here, or there, it’s a great experience all-together. Excited to know you’ll be joining me on the adventure.
