There are new leaked pictures of the iPad 3 which is slated to be announced in early March.

The pictures, and information which came with them were leaked by a Chinese website and are believed to be legit.

This information appears to confirm many of the rumors about the new tablet having an updated processor, 4G capability and an improved Retina display among other advancements.

Full details about what was learned from this leaked source can be found here.

Number of People Who Own Smartphones Is Rising

While this will come as a surprise to almost none, the number of people who own smartphones continues to go up month after month.

A new survey released shows that one factor which comes in to play more than others about who is getting smartphones is age.

An estimated 66% of Americans who are between 24 and 35 own a smartphone.

This statistic is even more impressive when considered with the fact that this is across all income ranges.

Full details of the survey are available here.

Will A Spike in Gas Prices Affect Your Business?

One of the biggest stories in the business world this week is the spike up in oil prices after Iran stops exporting crude oil to some European countries.

The price of oil goes up over $105 per barrel even though Iran is a relatively small supplier to Europe or the United States.

Much of the price change is based on uncertainty caused by this move.

Most analysts predict the price of gas will follow over the next few days and then go up significantly.

More information is available here.

Gotta love smartphones though. I recently figured out how to tether my iPhone to my laptop so I could work in places that didn’t have wifi. It’s the best thing ever!

I already have an iPad2 so I think I’ll stick with that for a couple years :) .

Hi Christian,

I’m waiting for the new iPad. I’m using mine a lot, and since I’ll probably have to give mine back to the University when I start my own business, I’ll have to buy a new one. And I’m not going to do that before iPad 3 is in the stores :)

Thanks a lot for sharing the rumors.

I think apple just wants to maximize their profit by releasing new versions so often.

Christian, I just got a new iPad…it’s still in the box. Should I wait for the next one?

Christian: I understand that introducing frequent updated versions of a popular technology makes for good business sense. But how important is it that the consumer has the latest iPad/iPhone and so on?

When I look at computers, I always look at them in terms of speed. I’ve always wanted the fastest computer because I know my time is valuable. I’d rather spend a lot of money on a fast product, to decrease the overall time it takes to complete projects.

And that’s just only one reason, I can think of at the moment, one might want the latest technology.

Technical issues are also more prevalent in older versions of technology products, which takes more time.

Actually owning a smart phone is really worth it, but it seems apple is moving so fast in releasing the next version of iPad.

Obviously companies love selling new versions of products, but quite possibly, our technology is increasing at a faster pace now too. Could that be another reason so many new versions come out so quickly?
