21 Fun Facts About Christian

by Christian Hollingsworth on November 23, 2011

in Random

I wasn’t going to write any posts this week, due to Thanksgiving & my birthday, but blogging got the better of me. Just this one I promise.

Giving back on your birthday seems to be on the upward swing. Trending.

What I did this year (as my birthday is today) is finally get the Smart Boy Designs store up and running. Many have been pushing me to get it done, as it seems some of my other projects tend to take the forefront. You’ll notice “The Blogging Bible,” is now available at a very low price, which is a compilation of all my favorite blog posts from the past. More information on this eBook will be coming soon.

So, what does a blogger usually do on one’s birthday?

Write a blog post of course!

Below you’ll find 21 fun, outrageous, funny, possibly boring facts about myself.

The 21 Facts

Here’s to the baring of souls!

  1. I love the Food Network. Throughout the day, at home, you’ll usually find it playing in the background. I eat lunch while watching some of my favorite chefs create even more food.
  2. Born premature and with a severe case of Jaundice. There’s a long story behind this near death experience that I won’t share here.
  3. Journaling is my way to calm down, create new ideas, focus, stay positive and learn from life. I’ve filled many journals and am always on the lookout for trendy, hip, awesome journals to add to my collection.
  4. I failed a college course in creating web sites.
  5. A talent I wish I had is break-dancing.
  6. I once had an aversion to avocados, Brussels sprouts, olives and mushrooms. I love them all now.
  7. Nightmarish dreams have plagued me for as long as I can remember. For quite some time I’ve developed a habit of writing my dreams as soon as I wake, and have found my dreams to be full-blown movies almost every night. Chasing. Death. Victory. I’ve done my best to turn a plague into a power. Many dreams are now my inspiration for blog posts, marketing campaigns & song lyrics.
  8. I can wiggle my ears.
  9. Disneyland, for me, is darn near the happiest place on earth. The show Fantasmic! makes me teary eyed almost every time.
  10. I’ve never driven a car with stick shift. Call it fate, but every vehicle I’ve ever driven has been an automatic. Yes I know, I’ve failed as a man, but hoping my time on a motorcycle will cross-pollinate clutch skills. icon wink 21 Fun Facts About Christian
  11. I can’t burp.
  12. The worst pain I’ve come to categorize in my life thus far is the migraine after a spinal tap.
  13. I collect key-chains.
  14. I collect books.
  15. Believe in ghosts, I do.
  16. One of my goals is to spend time in every US state.
  17. Up until the age of 12 I was simply terrified to sing in front of people. Now it’s a career choice.
  18. I’ve been driving large equipment trailers around the state of California for events (my Dad’s event production business) from the time I received my license. Work also included managing race events at a young age.
  19. Never worked fast food a day in my life.
  20. I have four dogs. Three huskies of which I dog sled with, and our mascot chihuahua.
  21. I don’t drink.

Well, my friends, thank you for sticking with me for a few of my years on this earth.

Here’s to another 80 if I can make it!

Food Network! Love it…more than making food and eating it. Don’t know why.
I hope you drink water. LOL!

I love watching Food Network, and then going to restaurants. I don’t like doing dishes, and I appreciate the art chefs put into their work.

And yes, water. I drink lots and lots of water. I don’t drink soda, as I can’t seem to handle the carbonation well, due to not being able to burp! lol

The big 2-1! Happy birthday! Not that it matters since you don’t drink I guess :) .

I’m a huge fan of the Food Network too.

Failed college course in creating sites? Shows how valuable that was :) .

And can’t burp!??!

What are your favorite shows on the Food Network?

It’s so ironic to me that I failed that college course. It pushed me to work a little harder, and now I just want to go back and fix up that grade!

And yes, can’t burp. Every once in a blue moon, I do, but nope – I guess that area of my throat is too tight! lol

You and my Mom would have a field day with the food network. She loves that show.

So you drive large equipment trailers! I can drive a split shift, 12 gears, dump truck. Does that count? Ah, our hidden talents. Too funny…

I’m so happy to hear you got past that fear of singing in public because that’s exactly where your career is headed. That I have no doubt.

Thanks for sharing these facts with us Christian. I’m especially happy to be commenting today. Happy Birthday young man and I do hope you have a wonderful day just enjoying yourself.

Best to you!

I bet she has a ton of favorite shows on that network. It’s the best. We’d sit and watch for hours, I’m sure. Ask if she ever watches “Sweet Genius” on there. I’m loving that show!

Wow! You’ve got some dump truck talent. That’s so funny! The many hidden talents of online bloggers! hahahahaha

Thank you for stopping by today, my very good friend. :)

Christian, Hauoli La Hanau. Thanks for celebrating your birthday with us by sharing even more of yourself.

Actually, I am surprised to read that you used to be afraid to sing in front of people because I thought you had been singing and performing all your life. Christian, however it happened, I am glad you overcame that fear because your singing makes my heart sing.

Driving large eqipment trailers and motorcycles does indeed cross-pollinate or “compensate” for the fact that you have driven a stick shift–I hereby so decree it.

Christian, wishing you a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day and a year of dreams come true. Today I celebrate this day because you were born. Thank you for enriching my life. Much love and aloha. Janet

Thank you for such a kindhearted comment, Janet. You make me smile always!

I sure was scared. During the holidays my family would make me perform when I was very young, and I would always hide behind a wall or door and sing. I just didn’t like any eyes on me! lol

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Christian!

You deserve so much and much much more and so the mention of you on my blog today- coincidentally a present from my side to you on your Birthday! :)

Those sure are wonderful fun facts about you, the best being about you not being able to sing till much later, whereas I always thought you sang so well!

This post sure gives everyone a better chance to know you so much better- the lighter side of you.

Thanks for sharing :)

Happy Birthday! Loved reading the fun facts. The one about veggies made me laugh – when I was little, all I wanted was vegetables. I refused to eat meat unless my mom threatened to take my veggies away (like it was desert). Go figure that I’m a vegetarian now. :)

Hi Christian,

Happy birthday. So many interesting facts, and I got stuck on “I’ve never driven a car with stick shift.” I have actually never driven an automatic. In Norway, most cars have stick shift, and it’s way more expensive with automatic gear shift. I have no idea why, but that’s how it is :)

Glad you liked them, Jens! One of my companions on my mission was from Norway. He mentioned how many of the older generation use Honda cars, or something like that, but here in the US – a lot of younger kids drive Honda vehicles. So funny to see the differences!

Yes. It’s actually a fairly small town. Apx 30,000 people live in the town, and I walk 30 minutes to work every day, and then to the kindergarten to pick up my son and then to school to pick up my daughter. I love walking.

My wife is driving the car :-)

Christian,
First, happy birthday. It’s certain you didn’t celebrate your 21st by getting drunk given you don’t drink. I have to admit I share a similar love for Disney. I’ve been to Disney World about 10 times, but this Californian has never been to Disneyland.

Keep wiggling those ears. Enjoy your day and Thanksgiving.

My eyes immediately got drawn to this post. I don’t what it is about learning about facts and interests, but I do enjoy it.

Any cool journals you’ve written in so far?

And I love and share your goal of spending time in all the states! Perhaps even get more audacious and go for all the continents.

Awesome idea for a post man, hope you has a great bday!

I really enjoy reading facts about people too. I believe it makes people online more “real.”

Let’s see. Cool journals. I LOVE a good leather journal. Those are always my favorite. And I always keep a good set of Moleskine journals nearby. Those are my ultimate favorites.

All the continents. That would be awesome! I have plans to travel in the coming couple of years, so I’m excited to visit a few of the continents for starters. LOVE to travel.

Do you enjoy traveling?

Hey Christian,

Well a very tardy “happy birthday” to you, from me. :) Better late than never, right? lol

I love the fun facts about you here. Sounds like you’ve had some interesting experiences to lead up to the sum of what you are today.

Regarding your point #10…I highly recommend getting your foot on a clutch sometime in 2012! There’s something so riveting about feeling the connection to your vehicle from the foot in this way. I have always enjoyed it. I mostly drive automatic now, but there’s something (that I can’t quite put my finger on) about driving a stick that just FEELS good!

And yeah, doing it on a motorbike is fun too. Maybe we’ll hear about this from you this year? ;)
