Every seed has a purpose.
Some seeds mature into beautiful flowers, while others become the bread of life. Wheat. It’s incredible how all have a unique task to accomplish.
This ideal of “purpose” has weighed heavily upon my mind as of late.
The purpose of this blog itself, has changed considerably. Even within a summer, it’s blown through any purpose I would have even conceived possible.
Through countless retweets (thank you), guest posts & interviews (thank you), personal emails of gratitude (thank you) & the general goodwill and support of readers – I’ve been able to reach a large audience.
Which leads me to…
…my love for music.
For those of you who know me well, know that my driving passion in life is music.
I’ve been singing since my brain built it’s first memories. In the beginning I remember being nervous, so as a little four year old I would hide behind a door while performing for gathered family. Belting opera (or Cher) as loud as my little voice would carry.
Since, my voice has certainly deepened. Gone are the days of singing along with Britney Spears in girlish falsetto.
Below you’ll see a few unprofessional, unedited samples from different venues. I sheepishly share these with you, as they were recorded well before my vocal training…
- Melodramma (nonsense syllable Italian)
- Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief
- Remember When It Rained (voices are all mine)
- Call Me Irresponsible
Fortunate I’ve been, in having opportunities given me to perform.
In school and church choirs. On a religious platform, I’ve performed on numerous occasions for congregations. Weddings too. In recent years and weeks I’ve been able to sing for crowds in upwards of 10,000 people, at events in California.
I’m on a schedule of opera training with my vocal coach, language studies, guitar and piano. It’s hard work, but a passion nonetheless.
All this effort, and then, my mind is blown.
A dream come true.
In the past few weeks I was contacted by two music producers.
One located in Denver, and the other based in Mexico city.
To make a long story short, an album will be produced in the coming months.
Currently we’re establishing brand identify, album “feel”, and putting together a trustworthy team. Contacts on the West and East coast are being gathered, songwriters and more.
Recording sessions will follow suit.
I don’t want to come across as pompous, but I’m wholeheartedly excited! It’s always been my vision to find a way to share music with the masses. To lift and inspire through the feeling of song.
To be blunt, it’s a dream come true. The opportunity has been given, and I’m going to jump in full throttle. I’m not here to live my life with regrets.
How does social media & blogging fit in?
I’m very excited for the opportunity this will give me to get a personal look into the social media aspect of music production and brand management. So no, I’m not leaving the blog anytime soon! If anything, I’ll be blogging even more.
As part of this entire process, I’ll also be signing on as social media director for another young artist.
In regards to social media I’ve had ample experience in real estate, special event & eCommerce worlds – but yet to work in music. This will give me a sound opportunity to continue learning and document developments here on the blog.
This is a grand turning point for good, I feel.
I’m overwhelmed.
As each day comes to us refreshed and anew, so does my gratitude renew itself daily. The breaking of the sun over the horizon is my grateful heart dawning upon a blessed world. -Terri Guillemets
I sit here typing with tears in my eyes. My heart is full. Why, you might ask, am I overwhelmed?
Because of you.
I started this blog in an effort to share my experiences with the online world. Blogging. Social media. Working online. Generating traffic. Little did I know I’d make so many friends, and receive such beautiful support from so many. You are all incredible for different, unique reasons.
Know that every blog post I write is just a “small” contribution in return for the generosity I’ve been shown.
Music will be the same. Every note a simple gift to you. I have you all in my thoughts and prayers. I will carry you all in my music. Know that.
I believe I’ve found my purpose.
Take this as a heartfelt, genuine thank you. I know I can’t do anything without you. I won’t be able to accomplish my music goals without you.
I don’t do anything in this world alone.
I’m simply a seed, learning to grow. Along with the nourishment and help of water, good soil and the brilliance of sun.
First impressions? Did you enjoy the songs?! What dreams are you chasing? In what ways has your life surpassed expectation. Please share.

"You’re such a smart boy!" were his first accolades heard. So, it’s no wonder that this phrase became the title of his business, Smart Boy Designs.
