I have a new “friendship” policy on Facebook.
As you might know, Facebook has a 5,000 friend limit on every account – and mine was fast approaching that number. There were hundreds of friend requests I hadn’t responded to, event invitations & extra spam that I wasn’t catching.
All of this was due to individuals wanting to friend because of Smart Boy Designs, and I sincerely appreciate the support! Although, it was becoming difficult to manage. I was losing contact with close friends & family, and all the extra information was pushing their info from my view.
So my new policy goes as follows.
I will only be accepting friend requests from people I know personally.
At the moment I’ve already unfollowed over 1,000 individuals, and I will be unfollowing a few thousand more. If I don’t know you personally, you’ll more than likely be unfollowed. If we’ve established a long, personal relationship online then there’s also a chance you’ll be kept as a Facebook friend.
All other individuals who want to receive business & blog updates and be involved with the Smart Boy Designs blog and products, have the opportunity to follow the Smart Boy Designs fan page.
Thank you for your support.
It’s an exciting time to see the network of supporters grow for Smart Boy Designs, and I appreciate your efforts in trying to connect with me further.
This new change will bring a little extra clarity to Facebook for me, and an easier way to connect with more people. I sure do hope you understand my reasons for making this change. I’m a person of focus and simplicity, and by allowing myself an easier way to connect with close friends & family as well as Smart Boy Designs fans, will ultimately help me to gain more time and continue focusing on delivering strong content.
Know that I consider you all much the same. Friends.
With over 76,000 followers on Twitter, let’s do the same for Smart Boy Designs on Facebook in the latter portion of this year!
Love you all.

"You’re such a smart boy!" were his first accolades heard. So, it’s no wonder that this phrase became the title of his business, Smart Boy Designs.
