“Success is not held within singular words or actions, but within the accumulative pursuit of progress.” -Christian Hollingsworth

Excited to publish this 13th edition of the Wink in Leeks. I didn’t realize I’d have so much fun putting together my thoughts and feelings on different links that are sent my way.

There’s so much wonderful information on the internet!

The past two weeks my health has been on somewhat increased turmoil, but I’ve been enjoying the support and success of many nonetheless. Weeks of content is already set in place for the blog, and I’m excited and grateful to all those who have shared guest posts, interviews & more. Next week I’ll be heading to Idaho for a month of rest & relaxation. I’ll be focusing on writing, organizing priorities for the new year & striving to be healed. Excited for the outcome.

You might have also noticed this week I’ve removed the “date” from all blog post URL addresses. I’ll be writing more on the switch, but I’ve already seen a tremendous increase in traffic due to shorter URLs.

Do you like the Smart Boy Designs Wordle pictured above? I think Wordles rock!

vogue The Wink in Leeks: #13Make yourself famous!

A great online photo effects website is PhotoFunia. At the website you have the ability to place your face on a billboard, on the cover of Vogue or any other place your imagination might lead you. I had fun with this app for quite some time this week, making photos for friends and family.

A world of books at your fingertips.

Did you know Google has scanned millions of books, and offers many of them online at a price or even free? Check it out here. (warning…this is certainly a time sucker)

Speed Up Your WordPress Blog

Many often wonder how to get their WordPress blogs operating at a quicker pace. The first step, is installing the W3 Total Cache Plugin. The second step is to read this guide. Presto!

I’m going to write a novel.

I’ve never written a full-blown novel before, although I have many uncompleted drafts and novellas. On that note, I’ve decided to take part in National Novel Writing Month. Basically, during the month of November you have 30 days to write a 50,000 word (or more) novel. I’m going to do it.

Hey Christian,
I was thinking about taking the date out of my urls as well. I was wondering if this would affect any older posts at all in Google.

Good luck on getting some R&R in Idaho.

I’ll be writing a post about it shortly. As of now, there hasn’t been any adverse effects at all. Traffic is even up 10%, and Google is grabbing the new URLS very fast. I’m using Google XML Sitemap plugin, and that shoots the new URLS over to the Google Webmaster Tools account I have. Works like a charm!

I love this list! I know that the Internet has so many amazing places to learn, speak your mind, and have fun, but am usually so busy that I don’t have time to look for them. I’m definitely going to check out the Photofunia link and the ‘funfo’ links. So much fun for this overstressed, over-anxious gal. Thanks Christian!

Sure glad I could find a few fun things for you to check out Samantha. There’s certainly a whole lot of “stuff” on the internet, it sometimes crowds out all the really, really cool stuff.

Enjoy your week!

That’s exciting you’re going to write a novel in November! I’ve seen that before. Would be fun to do. Maybe you’ll write the next Harry Potter? :)

Hi Christian, sorry to hear you’re still having health issues and I hope that the month of R&R works wonders for you.

I’ve certainly come to the right place today Christian. I’ve been having issues with my blogs resources lately so the W3 Total Cache guide is as welcome as your month off mate ;) Now all I need to do is follow it to the letter.

That image of you on the vogue cover looks really good, I may have to try my hand at that….. If I have time that is.

That sounds really exciting about writing a novel, not sure I’m up to it myself. But for those that can fairplay to them. I really hope that you achieve it within the month. Boy that must be an intense month you’re getting ready for, best of luck with it.

I hope that your health picks up and that you have a reult with your novel. Thanks again for the W3 Total cache link.

Take care, Barry

Thank you Barry. I really do appreciate the kind concern and thoughts. I sure hope to be better too. I just want to get back to normal, healthy life again!

Excited to see your success with W3 Total Cache. You’ll have to let me know how that goes for you!

It’s going to be an intense month with the novel, but I think it will be worth it for me to finally be able to say, “I did it.” You know? A great motivational boost for me to know I can do anything I set my mind to. Now I just have to DO IT! :) hahahaha

Thanks for stopping by.

The health issues have been ongoing for the past year, but I know I’ll eventually become healthy once again. At least that’s the hope!

So glad you like PhotoFunia. Just love that web app! And you’ll have a first run look at the new novel when it’s published. ;)
