There are times when Batman hears the call of help, and rises to the challenge. Using all his power, he protects and inspires Gotham city.
After working online for 10 years I’ve accumulated a good portion of knowledge in regards to marketing, building online communities, social media & traffic generation.
I don’t feel like I’m sharing enough.
I’m not perfect. I’m not an expert in many ways, but I know I have much to offer. For that reason it will be my goal to increase content production on Smart Boy Designs. Some of you may be offended, some might enjoy the extra posts – and a few may be somewhere in the middle. Although the opinions will vary, this is how it’s going to be.
Here are a few things you’ll be seeing more of on the blog:
- More interviews. I’m reaching out to college students, artists, bloggers, marketers, writers/authors & other professionals in a variety of industries. These interviews will feature more photos and “samples” of each person’s work. It is my hope and vision to provide a valuable, free service of publicity to many. We’ll all learn and benefit from the extra content shared within interviews. Learning comes quicker, when done together.
- Tips & Tricks. I’ll be writing some shorter posts each week that will involve tips on how to blog better, monetize traffic & change lives. I know some don’t like short posts, but they’re fun for me to write and I believe on a whole we benefit from them.
- An increase of me. I feel like I’ve separated myself somewhat from the blog. It will be my goal to share more of my amateur photography & stories from life. Isn’t that what blogs are for?
Although this experiment isn’t definitive, it’s still an intention.
For those involved with Triberr, I’ll be “deleting” posts that aren’t pertinent or crucial in order to preserve the amount of blog posts sent to your feeds from me.
Along with this intention I also want to remember and value one crucial piece of advice when it comes to anything in this world.
Quality is more important than quantity.
For that reason, all the extra “crap” posts I don’t feel you’ll benefit as much from will be kept to my personal blog, ChristianHollingsworth.com. There’s a high level of content production there too. It’s more of a place to feed my thoughts, rants & endless thinking of the brain.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on this process. Excited? Scared? Sad?
For me, I’m very excited. With a little management (on my end) I don’t feel it will be too overwhelming for anybody. I’ll keep the clutter from your Twitter streams, and you’ll have the same “teasers” on the Smart Boy Designs homepage to pick and choose from the content you’d like to read each day.
I’m excited for a new chapter…to know what Batman might do next.

Hi Christian,
“For me, I’m very excited.” That’s what matters. Do what makes your heart sing. Everything takes care of itself when you do what excites you, because like-minded people will find you and those who don’t resonate with your new approach will stop reading. No biggie.
Another note: Absolutely do not fear overloading people’s streams. Do you believe in what you have to offer? Do you feel it’s valuable? Then people crave it. Offer it up consistently, or else you are holding back, and holding back when we should be giving of our creative talents is a chief cause of failure. Less fear, more faith, more success.
Looking forward to your new strategy Christian. It vibes with me.
Thanks!
Ryan

This comment was very comforting Ryan. Thank you for sharing. You really know how to make someone smile!
The thoughts you shared just really resonated. You could turn your thoughts into many different blog posts, because it just wreaks value.
I think, at least for me, too much stress is placed on the content we produce. We’re afraid to share unless it’s absolutely perfect. I know that’s CERTAINLY held me back from sharing more. The unwillingness to share something unless it’s perfect. A lot like other areas in my life, I have difficulty sharing artwork, etc…unless I’m very, very happy with it.
But like you displayed, it’s more important to let it out; so others can and will benefit from what’s being shared.
I have a lot more to think about and ponder now. Thank you Ryan. I do appreciate it.
I’m a Marvel guy, but I did grow up on Batman – even have a tattered Batman from the 40′s buried somewhere among my 1000′s of comic books that are wilting in their old plastic bags! Got to re-bag ‘em or they’ll disintegrate!
In Spiderman they say that having power means having responsibility (they word it better) and the INTERNET is power! Use it wisely…and pay attention to the wisdom in this post!

I love Marvel comics too, but sure do love Batman. For me, growing up, it was more about watching these superheros on Saturday morning cartoons – so they all seemed to blend together. Wasn’t as much separation of “brands” as there are in comics. DC vs Marvel, etc…
Any wisdom in the post, in particular, you think should be focused on?

Hi Christian,
I believe what you’re doing now is very important, although I think you’re already doing an awesome job. Sharing quality tips that we can all benefit from, that’s what I really like about a blog. And of course, I really enjoy the personal stuff as well. So, if you can mix the two, that would be the best. For instance, the posts I enjoy the mosts are usually detailed posts about one trick that works, more this than generic posts about how important it is to create strong relationships in marketing. I’d like one “trick” I used to get a closer relationship to the top bloggers or something..

I’ll look into producing a post along those lines Jens.
Thank you for your terrific support. It’s good to know what I’m doing is honorable and enjoyed. Makes producing the content all the easier. For me, I’m like you. I love tips to benefit from!

I second with what Ryan has said above.
Do what you love Christian, and people will follow. I have enjoyed reading your blog. I love the mix. You just keep writing and let us worry about what we like or don’t. I don’t think even Batman can read minds, can he?
Keep doing what you love Christian!
And thank you!

You’re right Jocelyn…batman might be a protector of peace and figurative super hero, but no, unfortunately even he can’t read minds.
Hi Christian…You did a great job here…for me,this is very inspiring and I think I have to follow you on twitter and like your page on Facebook…Thank you anyway!!
