Why Do You Blog: Part 4

in Blogging

I’ve received so many responses to this simple question – that I’ve had to break them up into multiple posts.

I decided to give ourselves a little break between “sets” in order to think about the responses and then start back up again at a later date. That “later date” has come.

You can view the other parts of the series using the following links:

Now, I do indeed have a few thoughts for you. What a blog post be without?

What I’ve learned from this experience of gathering answers to “Why do you blog?” is that all of our reasons are diverse. Much like this world. We all have a different reason for living. So…respect it. Respect those around you and do your best to be supportive.

Remember…we’re all unique…just like everyone else. icon wink Why Do You Blog: Part 4

Every side of an argument has the ability to be defended – and that’s what makes this world go round.

Whether we call it “ying and yang” or “good versus evil.”

Let the blogs speak.

I’m so excited that Christian has asked this wonderful question and allowed me an opportunity to share my heart with you. Because, yesterday, I would have given a thoughtful and intelligent answer.

But, today, I share an answer that is overflowing from my heart – an answer that is no less thoughtful and intelligent.

I want you to always feel you are amazing.

And I will feel that I am amazing if I can help you always feel that you are amazing. I think Seal’s song, Amazing, says everything that needs to be said on the matter. I may not get it right. Or not soon enough. But now you know what I am working toward. And it is all about being amazing! You. Me. Us.

I started blogging as I felt like the lessons I learned about myself and life from 14 years of living and traveling around the world was being wasted.

I had this intense desire to share with others in the hopes of, not just providing the knowledge to do the same, but the inspiration.

The knowledge that I am making a difference to the lives of others provides me inspiration to continue blogging. I often receive emails or comments letting me know how someone has been inspired by one of my posts and has learned something that can help them move forward in the pursuit of their dreams.

I also continue to blog because it is my passion. I love getting up of a morning to do this, and I would totally do it for free. My blog allows me to create a place of positivity and encouragement. There is just not enough of this in the world for me to ever stop blogging.

I blog because I enjoy to blog. I blog because I like to make a residual income online (even when I sleep). I blog because I like sharing my knowledge I’ve learned with others.

I also blog because I like connecting with others in my niche. Blogging is fun and I enjoy blogging because of the above reasons!

Hi Christian,

Wow, you’ve interviewed a lot of people. This question “why do you blog?” might look simple to many people. But when you asked me, I really had to think hard about why. I know why I started, and I know what happened a few months after, but now? Things change, and the reason why we continue to blog might change. Looking at all the different reasons why people are blogging makes me think that no matter why we started out blogging, and no matter what we say is the main reason why we continue to blog, we are all blogging because we want to share our journey and we want to create sustainable relationships during the journey (at least that what I read between the lines).

The great part of this whole process is that I’ve got about thirty more blogger’s thoughts waiting to be added into the “why do you blog” set. So I’m excited to feature all the rest over the course of the next couple of weeks!

I love what you’ve read between the lines. Connection. Sustainable relationships. All great things that we all benefit from, learn from, and grow from. It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it?

It’s just wonderful to me that we can be across the world – yet still become good friends. I love it!

Thanks for sharing these answers! I haven’t read the other 3 parts but I’ll be doing that shortly. Is this the last in the series, or can we expect more? :)

Christian, you started the roll of some big things.

Your question inspired me to rethink why I blog and redefine for myself why I should blog. And yes, it turned out that it’s not about the money. Of course, I don’t have anything against money [grin] and I don’t have anything against people who want to make money by their blogging.

You may have noticed that I began my podcasts with your question. I’m working on the 10th podcast now. Here’s a link to the first one that you inspired:

I’m honored to have inspired something. With the quality of your podcasts as I’ve been listening, all the work I’ve put into this series would have been worth it.

You’re producing value, something you have your heart in, and it’s helped you to understand a little something more about yourself. That, in itself – is worth everything.

Thank you for sharing. It’s things like this that really help to push me to build more content, better content, and connect further.

I blog because my husband encouraged me to. He felt I had something to say. I also blog with my mom in mind. She passed away in 2009, but she would always say “live each day to the fullest”. My blog is dedicated to her and her mantra! :-)

Thanks for sharing that Joii. Really, thank you. I think blogging is a great way to “live each day” because you’re really just giving your all, self, and everything you believe in – to the world each day through your post.

Such a wonderful thought!
