How much is my blog worth? This thought often comes to a blogger’s mind.
Take a look at your blog from an outsider’s perspective. If you were offered to purchase your own blog for $1, would you do it? Would it be worth it to you?
If not, consider getting to the grind producing content and products to increase your brand reach and value.
Ways To Increase Your Blog’s Worth
A business venture (or blog) with no income for over six months – is considered a hobby in my book. Which is perfectly acceptable if that is all you hope to achieve. If your aim is to blog while making an income, then there will be items that need changing.
The following is a simple list of ways to increase the worth of your blog:
- Create Quality Content – Simply, content is the single most important element in blog value. When you create good content, the visitors will come.
- Generate Backlinks – There are many ways to produce backlinks that point to your blog. Commenting on other blogs, participating in forums, guest posting, etc…The ideas are endless. Focus on gaining a certain number of new backlinks each week.
- Custom Theme – Create or pay someone else for a custom blog theme. It helps to grow your brand and visibility.
- Purchase A Domain – If you’re serious about blogging, get yourself a domain name now. Domain names increase in value the older they are; so it’s important to start today. It will also be easier for others to find you, and trust your blog content.
Blog Appraisal Tools…
Start gauging the increase in value of your blog, by using this simple blog appraisal tools. Every few months, check to see where you’ve improved.
Conclusion
“A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.” -Charles Schwab
There’s no secret method in increasing your blog’s worth. For me it’s always come down to hard work and time. Whatever you focus your efforts on in this life, that’s where you’ll succeed. If you spend work and time on your family, it will grow. If you practice tennis every single day; you will improve. It’s a simple law of this grand universe.
When you’re willing to invest – the worth of your blog will increase – and I’m excited to see your results.

Of course. That’s a great service. Just added it to the list. Thank you Chaudie.
You’re welcome. It’s what I’ve always used. It tells you what you’re lacking in. That is why I like it.
I will try the way that you suggest ..
thanks for info …
The “monetary” worth of my site and blog is not a high priority issue for me. Still, I was curious, and checked … I do wonder about the estimate of “URL Appraisal” — $17000? That seems high, at least just thinking about how much I or someone else might pay for the site and blog.

It largely depends on so many variables. Your domain name, amount of content, etc…With the amount of time you’ve spent writing articles; I’ve bet you’d be surprised at how much it’s all worth.
I once read that the value of a blog or site is how much income it generates in approx 10 months.
I agree with the point about a custom theme, I think it’s lazy when people use a default blog theme and expect it to attract visitors who probably can’t distinguish the site from 10000 others.

Themes are really important. I just wish I didn’t have such an urge to continually tweak and change all my blog themes. I just find it fun and entertaining!
I think that’s my main problem as a web designer. I’d have a massive portfolio if I included everything I’d ever made, but I have to constantly change everything.

Same thoughts here. Maybe a solution would be to do screen-shots of everything; but that just seems a little too tedious for my taste.
It seems a bit curious (ironically, so) that a person can think up a name for a site and sell it for a ransom. Yet, a soul may pour immense effort and time forth in building a blog (site) to little or no monetary reward. I would no sooner sell my blog for a million dollars as a would my right arm. But, I might sell it for $1,000,001. AND my left arm, as I am right handed:)
But there are plenty of people who pour their heart and soul into a site just to ransom it off.
And besides, once you get that mill plus on3, you’ll be able to buy another arm with iphone capability lol.
Good point. In that case I will sell both arms and two toes from my left foot:)

Interesting, at the end of the day it all comes down to ranking and unique content that brings visitors.

It’s true. Unique content is what brings those rankings; and you’ll quickly find yourself succeeding in very quick fashion.
