Money is a great reward, but you shouldn't expect much money for a while. You have to first concentrate on building up a quality blog with a solid reader base. It is much easier to monetize the blog down the road instead of trying to get an overly monetized blog going from scratch.

Those stat checking sites can become your biggest time waster if you are not careful. It is far too easy to check the stats over and over throughout the day. So instead of actually getting some blogging done, you are busy memorizing your sales figures. Money and stats are a great motivator, but you do have to have other priorities as mentioned in this post.

I know alot of us obses too much with stats, but sometimes when you see the stats growing, the number of followers growing that initself is a huge motivator to keep going, but you are right though it can be bad to obsess too much with the stats especialy if its not going too well

It can make you aggressive or over emotional, it can cause anxiety, stress and depression because there is no outlet for these pent up emotions, it helps to see a psychologist or to open up to ppl and express your concerns in a controlled manner…

There really isn't any 'special' blogging site that is just going to provide readers or subscribers. I've had wonderful luck with both blogger and word press. But I have also taken the time to promote every single blog I have created.

A crucial point you've pinpointed is that many of us obsess way too much over statistics, and start reading stats and figures more then actually writing blog content & producing information of value. Excellent thoughts.

I agree that music is a great way to keep us in a good mood and inspire us when blogging. It is easy to lose yourself in the music of your favorite bands.

Most bloggers should read this post. Too many bloggers get too serious and they forget to have fun. They need to ignore their blog stats and make sure they are actually enjoying what they do.

Thanks Tate! Glad you're enjoying the new design. I really like it as well. I just added a few “touchups” to it. As for the teaser images – they're just done through the Thesis theme. It makes it very easy to accomplish such a task.

First, I love the new design it's clean and elegant. I wonder how you got the images to show with your posts. I tried to do it a few weeks ago and gave up . Now I am thinking about upgrading to 6.1. I like listening to music before blogging too, I don't know why but it puts me in a really good mood. And after blogging, I like to pour a glass of wine to sip on while proofreading.

I'd love to hear how YOU'VE made your blogging experiences fun and enjoyable. For myself personally – I try my best to already be happy before I start blogging. It puts me in a better place for writing & creativity. I do know that for others – anger fuels the flames of creativity, but for me – it doesn't work as well.
