Preview Before Publishing Your Blog Posts

Today I’ve prepared a quick blogging tip. Be sure to preview before publishing your blog posts. Although it’s simple, it’s important to make sure your post is in working order before publishing and promoting to your niche and community.

Before I hit the “Publish” button for any post, I’m always sure to preview first. There are many reasons for this.

  • Misspelled words & grammar
  • Messy, un-formatted text
  • Photos have become too large
  • Images haven’t floated properly amongst text

Although there are many other areas which may need correcting within your post, these are some of the more common problems.

Remember – the more care you take in promoting yourself as a blogger who is neat & proper, the greater influence you’ll have on your community. Don’t poison your readers with mistakes that could have easily been fixed by previewing before publishing.

  • You're most welcome. ;)
  • Thanks for this excellent tip.
  • Great post you got here. I'd like to read a bit more about this matter.
  • This is really very important. If you want credibility on your site or blog it really has to look professional. An important part of this is that the spelling and grammar are correct and there are no typos. Although we are all busy it is important to take the time to check before you publish.
  • Great tip! I just had that happen to me - hit publish a bit too fast. How embarassing!
  • Good tip, I preview my posts before I publish. Must of the time I forget to place links to older posts on my blog.
  • Good tip. You can get away with proofreading and editing afterwards with a website. With a blog, your readers get notified as soon as your new post is published. So it is crucial that the post looks good the minute it is posted.
  • To be honest I sometimes forget to preview the post before publishing it. So then I must go back and start fixing the misspelled words, which is really annoying.
  • Thanks for remind us about such useful things.
