I do not ask for donations often, but please feel free to skip this post if you feel uncomfortable with the contents.
I’m going on a mission. An LDS church service mission, to be more precise. This has been a dream of mine since I was a young boy – and it’s finally becoming a reality.
Currently I’m finishing my registration papers, and I should be leaving at the end of the year. While on my mission I’ll be serving the local people in any needed capacity for two years. Thus far I don’t know where I’ll be sent – but here’s to hoping it looks something like the above photo.
Why Help Me?
Your contribution will help me accomplish this special journey in my life. It’s something I want, and need to do. Not only will it make me happy – but I hope it will help the lives whom I serve.
“Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.” -Ashley Smith
Your donations will:
- Help me go on a mission.
- Allow me to blog right up until departure – and resume writing as soon as I return. Hopefully with a bunch of stories to share!
- Help me become a full time blogger.
- Get me back into college when I return.
- Keep this blog light on ads.
- Help me realize a long awaited dream.
This service mission will cost me $400 per month – for a two year grand total of $9,600. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated – and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely.
The beautiful part of blogging, and the internet – is that we’re all here to interact and benefit from each other. We all come from different parts of the world, we all have different beliefs – but we’re able to support. We’re able to communicate, we’re able to serve, we’re able to love.
With you’re help – I can realize my dreams. And in return – I hope I can continue to help – in you achieving yours.

"You’re such a smart boy!" were his first accolades heard. So, it’s no wonder that this phrase became the title of his business, Smart Boy Designs.

I know how it feels to ask for help. I don’t like to either. But like me and my need to travel in order to learn I am always in need of help in terms of finances. Since I have others do so for me, I will try and extend that same hand of goodness I have gotten from others. I hope you can meet your goal. A little bit goes a long way.

Thank you to all those that have helped out. It’s greatly appreciated.
This sounds like a great cause. If I could afford it I would contribute. We will all definitely miss you if you were to abandon your blog for such an extended period of time.
To help pay for this I suggest trying to setup some streams of passive income such as through affiliate based websites or adsense based websites.
What an adventure this will be! Are you not able to bring a computer with you? No blogs for two years? Are you going to have someone manage your blog and write for you while you’re gone?

Yes, Dru, I won’t be able to have a computer with me – so no blogging for two years. Mostly I’ll just be focusing heavily on the service mission. But you know – life is all about change – and it will be exciting to focus on something so strongly for two years of my life. When I get back – I’ll be getting right back to blogging, because I certainly love it so much.
