As I sit here waiting with my family to board our flight to Oahu, Hawaii – I think of the hassles and time it takes just to get onto an airplane. Hours are needed – just to get tickets, offload baggage, go through security, and load.
Some of the individuals sitting here look more tired and ragged then others. Mothers feed their hungry children, some are working with notebooks and journals (like I’m doing myself) – and friends are saying their goodbyes to loved ones.
This process of getting on a plane is much like the setup involved in starting a blog. Though in blogging – instead of metal detectors – we have domain registration.
Use the following steps as a simple guide in getting a blog from start to finish – in speedy, “flying” style.
- Choose Your Destination - Picking the location of a flight will depend on your goals and interests. The same applies in blogging. Choose a blog topic you won’t bore or tire of. Passion and interest will last lifetimes longer then the latest trend or hot topic.
- Research Your Trip – Much like preparing for a trip, your knowledge and information must be understood and prepared – for your blog. It’s important to have some knowledge of your niche before blogging.
- Tackling Logistics – Transportation to and from the airport is needed, tickets purchased, and bags need checking in. With blogging – domains need purchasing, blogging platforms setup, and blog authors maintained. Take this phase in blog production one, simple step at a time.
The Final Flight
I’m now boarding the plane – or in your case, a blog – and together we’re about to embark on a wonderful journey. Where will your blog take you? This is the beauty of travel (or blogging) – as you may never know – until the final destination bas been reached.
Think of your blog as your special paradise – which you have full control in creating.

"You’re such a smart boy!" were his first accolades heard. So, it’s no wonder that this phrase became the title of his business, Smart Boy Designs.

Decades ago I traveled on business continually. Flying was a breeze, we were usually on time, and we had fairly decent MEALS on board. I often got to the airport with minutes to spare – no problem, no security to fight with. Today, it is a nightmare by comparison. Hawaii is probably the only place I would fly to – other than than, I’ll drive!
