Interesting thoughts here Andreta. I can see where your thoughts are very applicable. Google certainly has a difficult time “re-indexing” pages once they’re updated. I’ve seemed to find a way around that by “pushing” my new updated pages into Google by Tweeting, blogging and updating the community regarding a new change. It’s a great way to tell Google to listen!

Actually… Despite of the Bing having less search results I, as webmaster, like it more in some aspects than gigantic Google
Because – if you submit some pages to Bing, then they get indexed very fast – can’t say that about Google but…
The most irritating situation is when you change-optimize your pages and they don’t get indexed by Google over weeks (don’t tell about old pages which aren’t anymore in your web at all – means false search results by Google )!
So – Googles CACHE is somewhat evil… What SEO you can talk about then?
But Google is and stays as leader – because of users of course…

I actually like Bing more, believe it or not. I've found results are easier to find, quite contrary to everyone else's experiences. I very much like that daily changed background because its something Google never really did (besides the general changes to the title) But w/e. Searching is searching.

I've given Bing a fair chance but switched back to Google after a few days. I really like what Microsoft is trying to do with Bing, though. The vertical search stuff (Travel, Shopping, etc.) is very interesting and I heard Bing does well in those areas. Results for generic search queries just don't seem as good as Google's – on the other hand, but they do come close. If there's anyone who can attempt to compete with Google it must be Microsoft. I guess I'm just too used to Google and its spartan look.

Overall, kudos to Microsoft for delivering a search engine that is good enough to compete with Google. 'Good enough' is good enough, Google is just plain hard to beat.

I tried Bing out and I really didn’t like it. The results felt cluttered and there was information missing. I don’t like the backgrounds either; what do they have to do with anything?!

Google is reliable, consistent, and simple. The results are easy to read without being cluttered w/ images…if I want images, I will search in Google Images!

Bing still has a ways to go before it’s even comparable to Google.

Google is great and all, but a little competition is healthy. It pushes all the major search engines to improve. Personally I am rooting for msn/bing as Google has been too dominant for too long.

I agree and surely, bloggers and affiliate marketers will stay clear of Bing and stick to Google or even Yahoo!.

I do think that Bing is good for some things like vacation research and certain entertainment searches but I’ll tick to Google for the most part as well.

Although I don’t like how Google is auctioning off brand names and such to other companies as keywords for AdWords.

I’ve used Bing a few times, but always find myself drawn, or pushed, back to google. Bing does feel very cluttered, especially with the image backgrounds. The backgrounds really put me off; they seem totally unrelated to the site and just distract me from why I’m there.

I suppose though the main reason is it’s run by Microsoft. If it were an independant site I may have given it a longer chance.

I think I’m one of those people who will always use google. When I started using the Internet back in the 90s it was the only search engine I’d heard of.

I totally agree with you son and Ace too Nice try Microsoft but no cigar. Missing data is my biggest gripe
