Suddenly inspired by the idea of Oompa Loompas – I finally solved the Google riddle. Just as Willy Wonka uses a tribe of Oompa Loompas to operate his chocolate factory – Google is using Oompa Loompas to manage their mega company.
Now, you ask, what the heck do Oompa Loompas, Willy Wonka, and Google have to do with me and my blog? My answer: Everything.
First – it’s time for some comparative aliases.
- Think of yourself as Mr. Willy Wonka himself. The observative, kind, charming fellow – who runs a marketing campaign so sweet, even adults fall for his candy.
- Your blog is the powerhouse chocolate factory. It’s smoothly running and pumps out loads of candy (blog content) on a daily basis.
- Blog visitors are the children who flock for Wonka’s candy (blog posts). They crave more, and are constantly seeking more of your wonderful, well-made products.
- Your friends and family will forever be known as Oompa Loompas. They’re hard working, honest, and extremely loyal. If you give them a job – they’ll more than likely go out of their way to help.
See what I mean when I say Oompa Loompas have everything to do with blogging? I’m beginning to wonder if Willy Wonka wasn’t a blogger himself…
Putting Your Oompa Loompas to Work
Harnessing the magnificent power of friends and family is an extremely useful “jump-starting” technique when beginning a new blog.
Using the following “jobs,” employ your Oompa Loompas (aka friends, family, colleagues) to help spread the news of your blog. Within a few months – I’m sure you’ll be surprised at how much they expanded your blog’s community.
1. Comments - Employ your Oompa Loompas to leave comments on all your new posts. This helps to get discussions going, and increases other reader’s desire to get involved in your community.
2. Feed Subscriptions - Your Oompa Loompas must subscribe to your blog’s feed. This will help to bring your feed count up, and help to create a solid base of subscribers. People are followers by nature. The more followers you have – the more others will want to join in on the action.
3. Word of Mouth – Oompa Loompas are naturally very good at “starting the fire.” Ask your Oompa Loompas to talk up your new site – as they’ll start lighting small fires in different locations. Soon – you might just have a wildfire on your hands.
The Factory Is Booming
Your Oompa Loompas are helping to establish your factory (blog) as a trusted source in your niche. You’ve employed them to generate interest in your candy (content) – and you’re quickly becoming a Willy Wonka of the web.
Using your tribe of Oompa Loompas to help grow your new blog, is a worthwhile investment.
Remember to treat them with kindness – and they’ll follow you religiously. Another plus is that they don’t even require payment – just a little bit of chocolate!
Share with me how you use your Oompa Loompas for work around the factory!

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading.
I don’t think I’m comfortable with “employing” my Oompa Loompas. They’re fodder to my blog contents occasionally so they might chase me out of town actually if they found out about it. No, just kidding. It’s just that I want them to discover it and love it on their own, if it comes to that.
My…you are a Smart Boy. I really enjoyed this post, you write very clearly. Extremely well done!
Great blog! I will definitely keep a watch on your blog because this is the kind of thing I can understand!
